Playing with your baby: from birth to 3 months

I was so anxious and couldn't wait for my baby to be born and play with him. One of the first playing technique I used was talking to my newborn. He would try to respond and look at me straight in my eyes. Singing and holding my baby was one of my favorite things. I would show him colorful rattles, turn them around and describe to him what that is. At two months old he would already want to touch everything that was interesting and this way he used his imagination. Other thing we did was play during diaper change. I would give a colorfull toy in his hands and he would keep busy while I changed the diaper. Not every child can be calmed by particular toy or technique. Every mom should find what her infant likes and what catches his imagination.

Baby's night routine

I started my baby's night routine when he was about 10 weeks old. I have read somewhere that your infant would be more calm and relaxed if you have some type of night routine to help your infant fall asleep. First important thing is that your baby's nursery is a calm and colorfull place. Before we start our night routine I let my infant play to get some energy out. I put him in a Bouncer. After that I give him a bath, massage him, put on his pajamas, turn on the mobile and stay there next to him for a while. I don't let him stay alone if I see that he is not sleepy. Usually after playing and taking a nice bath, mobile sounds and lights make him sleepy. This routine worked perfectly for us and we manage to stick to it.

Baby's first toys

From the moment my child was born I knew that i needed something that would make him calm and make his eyes lit up. I bought this toy for my son when he was almost 2 months. It is called Baby Einstein take along tunes. My son enjoyed the lively tunes and loved the colorfull toy. I enjoyed listening to it also beacuse it was not too loud and annoying for adults like some other toys outhere.

This is a must have for every baby. Newborns need something that can entertain them and calm them down. I really didn't want to spend alot of money on toys but this toy is affordable and was worth every penny.

When I got my crib I also got a Projection Mobile for my baby. It is animal themed with lights, music and heartbeat sounds. My baby loves this. If you don't have your baby in your bedroom this is one thing that you must have for your baby to calm her down and fall asleep while listening to those calming tunes. I turn it on every night until my baby falls asleep. I also got one set of bright and colorfull Rattle and Teether. What i loved about the rattle was that it was perfect to hold for infants tiny hands.

Every parent should introduce their infant early in developing months to start stimulating it's senses  in nurturing and educational way. This kind of a toy for infants is safe and entertaining. Every baby would love this toy.
There are alot of toys out there, we just need to find the right one that will catch our baby's attention and imagination.

Decorating Nursery

The first question that came to my mind when I started my nursery decoration was gender. Will it be gender neutral or not? I wasn't sure where to start. I picked out a portable Folding Portable Crib
It was affordable and it was excatly what I was looking for with 2 matress position. I also got a matress with it. To match the crib I bough a white colored changing table.

I started from there since those are the two main things a nursery must have. I have spend days and days planning and shopping for my babys nursery. When I found out that it was a boy I chose a soft green color for my walls and a winnie the pooh theme. When we got our furniture my husband helped me to paint the walls and I put up some wall stickers of Winnie the Pooh & Tigger Peel. I bought a crib sheet set in a green color and found a cute Disney Baby Hamper with a winnie the pooh theme. I loved the hamper.

I continued to decorate and buy things through out my pregnancy. It was a slow process but at the end I was glad that I made the nursery simple and everything at hand.
Decorating your baby's nursery should be fun and not frusturating. For me that was one of the most joyfull things in my pregnancy. I had alot of fun. As long as you spend some quality time and alot of love in doing something for your baby I am sure that it will end up in a perfect nursery.

When a pregnancy test turns positive

From the moment my Pregnancy Test turned positive, I began to worry about what kind of mom would I be. I kind of doubted in myself, being new at everything I thought alot about how would I take care of my new born and how would I calm a crying baby.  Having heard different stories from my own parents, in laws and friends I began to feel confused, and I didn't know what was right and what was wrong. With all the happiness that I was experincing while I was expecting my baby I was also lost. There were so many people trying to give me their advices on whats good and whats not. Before I gave birth I wanted to know everything about babies so I bought myself  The Baby Book and I did not regret it beacuse the book had all the answers of my questions and doubts. A good  thing is that it had all the basic information that any parent of newborn would want to know. It took me a while to get through the book and I found myself going back through the pages even before I gave a birth to my child. I call this book  my baby encyclopedia. 

Once the pregnancy test turns positive, every women should start to prepare herself for a life thogether with her newborn. I was so excited about expecting my baby, rubbing my stomach, feeling little kicks, picking out baby names and wasting days and days making lists for shopping. I called this a sweet suffering with nausea, throwing up and heartburn that I had experienced through my whole pregnancy, but it was all worth it. At my doctors appointment the first time i heared my baby's heartbeat at 12 weeks I melted. It was the best sound ever, I thought that it would be nice to hear that sound everyday when ever I wanted. So my husband surprised me and bought me a Doppler. I listened to my angles heartbeat twice a day. Its the best sound hearing all the kicks and the turns. It assured me that everything is fine in there, as long as I heard the kicks and heartbeat. Expacting a baby can be hard but every mom should enjoy it beacause it only lasts 9 months and I am sure that every mom misses being kicked and feeling her bundle of joy move inside of her.
